Fiancé(e) (K-1 & K-3) Visas:

Fiancé(e) visas are available to U.S. citizens who want to bring his or her foreign fiancé(e) to the United States for marriage. The fiancé(e) gains legal status and enters the U.S. with a valid 90-day non-immigrant visa. The couple must marry within the 90 days, because the K-1 visa is not able to be extended for any reason. Failure to marry within the allotted 90 days is a violation of immigration law and can have serious repercussions.
After marriage, the foreign spouse can apply for permanent residency and eventually citizenship.
